『2023 MAMA AWARDS』が11月28日(火)、29日(水)に日本では初の東京ドームで2日間にわたって開催された。『Album of the Year(今年のアルバム)』大賞をSEVENTEENの「FML」が受賞した。

MAMA 2023 Album of the Year(今年のアルバム)大賞はSEVENTEEN

2023 MAMA AWARDSの中でも最も注目を集めた「SAMSUNG Galaxy Album of the Year(今年のアルバム)」の大賞は、大トリで会場を最高潮に盛り上げたSEVENTEENの「FML」が受賞した。
発表された瞬間には東京ドームが歓喜の声にあふれた。

SEVENTEENは、他に「Worldwide Fans’ Choice」「Best Dance Performance Male Group」「bibigo CULTURE & STYLE Award」「Best Male Group」と全5冠を獲得した。

授賞式のコメントでは、活動休止中のS．COUPS（エスクプス）もサプライズで登場し、「歌手生活の中で一回でも、もらえるのかなという、そういう賞をいただきました。幸せです！CARATの皆さん、ありがとうございます！」と感謝を伝えた。

また、スングァンは、「舞台を準備しながら、多くのアーティストの舞台を見て、本当にリスペクトの気持ちを感じました。賞をもらった方ももらってない方も、ここにいらっしゃる全てのアーティストの皆さん、本当にかっこいいです。お互い大変な仕事ですが今後も一緒に頑張っていきましょう！」と同じアーティストたちに敬意を表し拍手を送った。

さらに「私がこのような言葉を言っていいのか分かりませんが、今年いろんなことがありました。私たちのチームを愛してくれて、応援してくれた私の友人に本当に心からお礼を申し上げたいと思います。ありがとうございました。」と涙をこらえながら親交が深かったASTROのムンビンへ感謝の気持ちを伝えた。

Album of the Year(今年のアルバム)以外の大賞は、Worldwide Icon of the YearをBTS、Song of the Year(今年の歌)をNewJeansの「Ditto」、Artist of the Year(今年の歌手)をNewJeansが受賞した。
